So im in LA and as near as I can tell...there's nothing to do downtown. I DID end up going the a California Pizza Kitchen. I mean...I KNOW it's a chain, and they have them all over, but I'd never been to one...and I figured...I AM in Cali, right? So im in there and I end up chatting with the guy who's working there. It was slow and I'm the friendly nice guy who likes to talk. Turns out...I'm right. There is nothing to do downtown L.A. You have to go somewhere else to do anything. So I end up walking around and just kinda getting the lay of the land. Turns out EVERYTHING is glass, plam trees, and stucco. This is NOT Chicago. Chicago is alot older as near as I can tell...either that or L.A. just has more money to update the look of things.
So that was my day off. Walking around. Tomorrow is the Dodgers game, and the first day of the conference.
Oh and for dinner I ended up at some Irish pub, made me think of Flach. Anywho...I ended up chatting with 2 randoms at the bar who were going to SIGGRAPH. They are apparently showing off their animation they worked on tomorrow and then getting to go do all the cool things at the show. I love meeting new people.
