This day in history
Let's see...Gandhi assassinated(1984), Christian Bale born(1974), Beatles play their last public appearance on the roof of Apple Records in London(1969), Adolph Hitler named Chancellor of Germany(1933), and a little boy named Ben joined the party(1980).

Couple of changes....
First and foremost, there are images up in the picture page of the party. Two pictures. Everyone was having too good a time to bother with pictures, and that's the way it should be.

Second, I think I'm finally done with the website for awhile.
- Added a favicon--those of you in Safari or Firefox will notice a blue H when you bookmark the page, those of you in IE...suck it, IE doesn't really deal all that well with favicons
- Added a iPhone webclip icon--those of you lucky enough to have an iPhone will notice that when you webclip the page, you get that same blue H on your homescreen, rather then the generic icon they define
- Recent comments roll--see over there on the right, click "said..." to read what was said, click the name if they actually had the balls to put their name to what they said
- Logo--I (with the help of Chris Rudin) added a logo to the header, and all subpages.
- Header--This morning I had a picture of Chicago up but that didn't really fit, so now there is a picture of the City building, and it fits much nicer. Course it didn't look right until Justin fixed it.
- Rearranged sidebar--It's getting a little long, so I moved some things around so the more important info is near the top
I think it's all these little things that make the site seem like a cohesive mass rather than the mis-mash of services I use flippantly tied together.
Now the thing has a service plan on it, but it's in Frank's name. So here we are 6 months later, and all the red tape crossed, followed all the rules, and I got the thing replaced. That's right, not fixed, replaced. I got the thing replaced with a $800 37" HD LCD tv. Best 300 dollars I ever spent.
Now for the rant:
SERIOUSLY CC! SERIOUSLY...6 MONTHS to get a piece of shit TV fixed/replaced!? If I had payed for that service plan, I would be seriously pissed at the quality of service I got for all my money.
Ed played drums last Thursday. This is a video of it.

I've been sick
I got sick tuesday night. REAL sick. Puke in the bathroom sick. Take 2 days off work sick.
Thursday, January 24, 2008
But you know what the best thing about being home alone all day? Peeing with the bathroom door open. Yeah, I know it sounds dumb, but it's the simple things that bring the greatest pleasure, am I right? I'm right.
So I worked the Black Party last night. The Black Party, for those not in the know, is a fetish and fashion party thrown at Boltini. For those of you counting, yes, that means I worked Saturday AND Sunday this week.

So fetish and fashion, huh?
Yep. I saw the obligatory spiked leather dog collars, fishnet stockings, and stiletto heels. And that was all well and good. In fact some of it was VERY well and good. But then as the night went on, it got "better." One person leading another around on a leash was cool the first time it happened. The 7th, 8th, and 20th times it happened, it was played out.
The highlight of the evening had to be when the lady wearing nothing but what looked to be a swimsuit bottom and feather halter top decided to get up on the bar and dance. Her thong bottom already showed off ALL of her ass, but as she wiggled and jiggled 2 things happened. Her bottom rode up into her butt...and snatch. So now we are all staring at her hairy cootch (and she's had a few kids). The second thing that happened was that her top kinda....settled? I can't think of a better word. So her tits popped out of it. So now shes up "in the spotlight," everyone is staring and her naughty bits are just OUT THERE for the world to see.
Other notable characters were the guy dressed like a fucked up prom attendee who smelled like he had not taken a shower in a month, and whos hair was rattier than Bob Marlys dreads, and Katie 2 showed up, but I had to make her wait in line. Even the door guy has to follow the rules.
Happy Birthday Jack Attatck
It's Jack's B-day. He's 6 now. According to his mom, my invitation to his birthday bash, next Saturday, is in the mail. I made the list!

Hopefully your birthday goes better than these kids!

Firehaus has a new special. Apparently you can order a whole mini keg for your table for the low low price of 25 bucks. Well it was Britney's birthday, and we went out. She's turning 22, so of course it was on campus, but at least it was Firehaus.
I actually had a good time! I actually TRIED to get people to go to Brothers, rather than avoiding it like the plague. Unfortunately the line was crazy, so we ended up at Legends. Surprise surprise, Jenn Roberts was there with Jake! Since I was out with Flach, it was like the old crew was back...all we needed was Diana!
Highlights of the evening:
- Discovering Bostons for dinner
- Juno was too funny (Thunder cats are GO!)
- Hitting the ATM up before going to the bar (Rule number one...Don't use the bar's ATM)
- Playing Irish poker and giving drinks to people who were "taking a break to not get too drunk" (there's no breaks in drinking games!)
- Drinking a whole keg
- Standing outside in the cold while people figured out where we were going next (Rule number 2, don't pay cover).
- Running into Jenn unexpectedly (you know...rule number 3).
More pictures of the mini keg can be found below. That's Flach and Emily posing with it.
Was that a normal enough night for everyone?

Yesterday Aaron said there was no V8 in the Customer Service Kitchen. I went there this morning to get my morning drink. I had to dig around a little, but way in the back, there was one, flopped over on it's side, waiting for me to nab it.

Nope, you're not dreaming
That IS a slick little template update to the blog, and if you look closely, you will see that the rest of hunka.net is now integrated into the new style.

There's still a few things missing, and some place holder text, but I'd say it's pretty good for a few hours work.
When I started this blog, I said "It's not gonna be about me, or what's going on. It's going to be about cool things I find out about, maybe a kind of technology blog or something.

Well THAT worked out great, didn't it? I tried! Go look at the first post, it's about a free game with a great concept behind it.
Anyways, to get back to what this blog was supposed to be about...here is a fun animation. Watch it all the way to the end...it's kinda sad....
What are we up to now..."The Return of the Jack?"
More babysitting stories.
Friday, January 04, 2008
First the absurd. So I get over there, and start babysitting like I always do, and Jack asks "Can I get in my pajamas?"
Sure kid...whatever you want.
So he scurries off to the bedroom yelling "Stay here...don't come in!" So I stay out in the TV room and he comes out with his waist through the neck hole of his PJ tops yelling "I'm done!"
"Dude! You are wearing your shirt like pants!"
"No I'm not, these are my pants."
"Oh...well, ok then" I reply.
So he scurries off again, this time returning with just his pants on but he's pulled them down low, as in...below his butt.
"Oh heck no!" I say (see...when I'm around kids, I clean up the language) "No kid I'M watching is gonna be ghetto!"
So he scurries off and gets them on right, and we sit down to watch the DVD already playing.
Now this is were we know that Jack is going to be one cool kid, as if he's not already. So Jack sits down to watch "Demon Days Live (At Manchester)" AND SING EVERY LYRIC TO EVERY SONG. Let me repeat that...EVERY LYRIC...EVERY SONG...GORILLAZ.
So then I ask him, why every song is about monkeys, and he goes "They aren't all about monkeys, there are three songs that don't talk about monkeys. All the other ones do"
While this did NOT answer my question, it did prove that he's paying attention to the songs, and not just memorizing words.
And while this was all good fun, there was something creepy about watching a 5 year old sing "Kids with guns."
Fun fact discovered last night: Jack was born January 18th, I was born January 30th. Jack tells me thats only 12 days apart. :)
This cracked me up.
