Housewives of Logan Square

So there are two factors that contributed to the picture you see on the left there.

1) Kendle told me that I had to dress up in a suit to go to this christmas party.  Then she was all "Do you have a shirt?  I don't think you have a shirt"  So to prove to her that I have a shirt, and indeed a whole outfit, I decided I had better get everything together and laid out for Saturday.

2) I washed the dishes, did three loads of laundry, emptied the dishwasher, and loaded it again, took out the trash, cleaned the bathroom, changed the sheets on the bed, put away three loads of laundry, disinfected the counters in the kitchen, and cleaned up the living room.

So, there I was, feeling all domestic when I spied the suit I had laid out.  So I get to thinking, as long as we are swapping gender roles, I might as well go and blow this thing out of the water.  What is the classic drink a wife should have waiting for her husband when he gest home from working in advertising all day? Martini!

I headed down to the liquor store and bought a bunch of things for making martini's, and whipped up a batch of Kendles favorite, the Dirty Lemonade, from Boltini.

So when Kendle comes home, she honks to make sure everyone in the ally knows she's there, so I KNOW when she will be walking through the door.  So there I was coding away for Wolfram in a suit and tie (all that housework AND I worked late) when I hear the honk!

I rushed to the kitchen and started cutting up lemons, I poured out enough for 2 drinks in to the shaker and AS Kendle's key was turning in the lock, I was shaking up her martini.

Needless to say she didn't know how to take it.  Usually I'm glued to the compter screen when she comes in, cause it's never a good place to stop working when she walks in the door.

So I pour the drinks, and I show off my suit and she's all "oh, I guess you do have a shirt"

BAM!  Score one for Hunka!

But then again, I dont want to get this dirty!  I have to wear it Saturday!  So I go change out of the fancy cloths, but I do put on some nice jeans, and a different jacket.  See...I saw this on TV once.  Sports jacket class up top, casual jeans on the bottom.  I like that look, but a) sports jackets are kinda expensive and b) I didn't think I could pull off the look.

Well let me tell you guys.  Pulled. It. Off.  Big time.  So we went out to dinner cause I was looking super classy.

And THAT'S why I got dressed up in a suit and tie and made marinis last night.
