Exploring my surroundings

I took a walk yesterday. I've been taking 30 minute lunches so I can leave early and get home at a normal hour. But eating in the break room does not take 30 minutes, so I decided to explore. I went to a place called "Books-a-million" because I had searched Google maps for a board game store, and it pointed me there. Now it was called Books-a-million, I had a pretty good idea what I was walking into so I was not super disappointed when the board games they had were like...puzzles, and Monopoly.
The good news is I found 2 McDonlads, a Panda Express, a Potbelly, and something called "Jersey Mikes" which appears to have nothing to do with The Situation, and more to do with sandwiches.
Still perusing my quest for a game store, I decided to look around Skokie. It's the burbs right? People have nothing to do but play games, right? Well lookie here, not only do they have a game store, but the NERDIEST of game stores, right next to my video game store! How did I miss that?!
The red one next to the Subway is a Games Workshop, home to he creator of some of the most epic table top miniature war games around. AND I need a hair cut! If only I needed to do my taxes and eat, this would be some one stop shopping for me!
So I head over there for my haircut, and the reason I missed the Games Workshop last time I was over there is because this is an old image, and the store has since closed down.
Double disappointment for the day :(
The upside is I did find a game store off the Red Line. It appears they have events every night, and they are on the way home from work, so theoretically, I could just not take the Express home, and stop off at the game store on whatever night I feel like it.
Silver linings Hunka...silver linings.
