Usually I manage to avoid caffeine. I've never liked coffee, and with my new "eat in the break room" kick, I've not only been saving money, but empty soda calories as well.
Unfortunately for the past few weeks I went on a bender. I managed to have soda every few days. Just enough so that I didn't notice I was drinking one every day, but clearly enough that when I skipped 2 days, I fell apart.
Sunday, we were up at 7, and after three trips to Jewel, and a trip to the farmers market...AND painting the dining room, I was beat. But we still had to prep for Colin and Kristin's arrivial. I think we finished everything (painting, cleanup, mowing the lawn, and prep work) with about 20 minutes to spare.
I had an enjoyable evening grilling out and walking around Skokie, but I had no soda. That was my first mistake. Fast forward to Monday, and I'm going out to lunch with Colin (cause now I'm settled in, and it turns out the Loop is REALLY not that big, and getting to his place from my place only takes 10 minutes walking.)
So we go to this place, it's like Bow Wow or Woa Bao. I dont know...dumplings man. It's chinese dumplings. And they have all sorts of weird Japansese drinks to choose from, but I'm not dealing with trying some new drink or tea...so I just get water. By about 3:00, my head starts pounding, and I know I drank too much soda previously and have skipped soda at too many meals since.
That evening after dinner, I pass out on the couch, right in the middle of a thrilling episode of Dawsons Creek! I could not make it. I think it was the caffeine withdrawl combined with the running myself too thin all weekend long.
CLEARLY I need to just take a weekend off and play video games non-stop.
Unfortunatly the only cure for these headaches of mine is to sleep. So that's what I did, and now I'm back at it, ready to go!
